![]() Gabriele Basilico Biographie Gabriele Basilico (Milan 1944) graduated in architecture in 1973 and simultaneously started to work as a photographer concentrating on urban areas and industrial landscapes. His first important exhibition was held in 1983 at the PAC in Milan and entitled "Milan, portraits of factories". In 1990, he was awarded the Prix Mois de la Photo for the Parisian exhibition "Seaports". In 1991 he joined the 'Mission Photographique' to the city of Beirut, devastated by the war. In 1996, at the VI Exhibition of Architecture at the Venice Biennale, he was awarded the Osella d'oro Prize for photographs of contemporary architecture. In June 2002 he received the Photo Espana Award for his book entitled 'Berlin', an award for the best photographic book of the year. His photographs are exhibited in the most important museums and public and private institutions all over the world. |
