This symposium will address different phases of Lee Miller's life beginning with her work as a model. It continues with an examination of her work as a photographer and her involvement with Surrealism, commercial photography and travel, war and fashion photography. Her unprecedented career will be illuminated by international specialists including Mark Haworth-Booth, Antony Penrose, and Katherine Slusher. Also includes a screening of Jean Cocteau's film The Blood of the Poet, featuring Lee Miller, introduced by Dr Ian Walker, University of Wales.
