Présentation

As one of the first galleries in Shanghai dedicated to exhibiting contemporary and fine art photography, m97's goal is to exhibit the most interesting and innovative photography work in China, across all genres of the medium. m97 Gallery is located on the second floor of No. 97 Moganshan Road in Shanghai near the Suzhou Creek, which is home to dozens of art galleries and artist studios. m97 is a 300-square-meter gallery space with a 200-square-meter main exhibition room, and three smaller viewing rooms where visitors can see additional works of the artists we represent. ZENG Han and YANG Changhong Soul Stealer (Du 6/9/2008 au 22/10/2008)

m97 Gallery Shanghai is pleased to present "Soul Stealer," an exhibition of photographic works by Zeng Han and Yang Changhong. "Soul Stealer" is a mysterious four-part series of portraits and landscapes, evaluating a theatrical and spiritual connection of modern and traditional role play between characters in ancient Chinese operas and those of global popular culture. CHEN Chunlin Lessons Learned in One Day (Du 28/6/2008 au 21/8/2008)

m97 Gallery Shanghai is pleased to present "Lessons Learned in One Day," the first solo exhibition of photographic works by Sichuan-based artist Chen Chunlin. "Lessons Learned in One Day" is a series of portraits taken over the course of several years all across China in an effort to study the changing "face" and appearance of contemporary Chinese society. James Whitlow Delano Empire: Impressions from China (Du 17/5/2008 au 18/6/2008)

m97 Gallery is pleased to present "Empire: Impressions from China," a solo exhibition by James Whitlow Delano of his profound black-and-white images of China taken between 1994 and 2004. This award-winning, Tokyo-based American photographer has one of the most significant bodies of work about China's past 15 years by a foreign photographer. This vast body of work is catalogued in his book, Empire: Impressions of China, which won the 2005 Award of Excellence from Communication Arts.
