Mission Statement
The School of the Photographic Arts:
Ottawa's mission is to furnish the resources, environment, tools and instruction to develop the students' signature style, hone their photographic skills, and cultivate their visual literacy.
Our Approach
Our motto is Vision, Content and Craft.
SPAO was created to deliver intensive photographic training. The full-time curriculum is portfolio driven and designed with the committed student of photography in mind. The part-time studies offered are geared to many levels of experience, but still share an intensity of concentration, and emphasis on craft and execution, with the full-time program.

Les expositions
David Barbour Havana (Du 29/8/2008 au 15/9/2008)

Between 1994 and 2006, David Barbour travelled to Cuba thirteen times to document life on the streets in Old Havana. In 1999, he was awarded a mid-career Canada Council Grant to complete the project. In 2000, he exhibited part of the series in a two person exhibition with American photographer Bruce Gilden. In 2003, he presented a 42 print exhibit at the Ottawa School of Art. TOY WITH ME SCHOOL OF THE PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS: OTTAWA (Du 16/5/2008 au 9/6/2008)

A collection of photo-based works that have been captured by toy cameras. It will celebrate, and explore their capabilities and eccentricities as image capturing tools, and their effects upon the vision of their users.
