Présentation
Brancolini Grimaldi Arte Contemporanea, with locations in Rome and Florence, presents a program dedicated exclusively to contemporary photography and video. The only gallery in Italy to have such a focus, Brancolini Grimaldi represents several of the most important photographers, such as Olivo Barbieri, Francesco Jodice, and Massimo Vitali. The gallery also works with important international artists, including Mitch Epstein, Larry Sultan, and Andrea Fraser. The gallery is dedicated to producing and commissioning new works, as evidenced by Vitali's portfolio "Landscapes with Figures", as well as Barbieri's "site specific_ Las Vegas" 35 mm film. Mitch Epstein - Vietnam (Du 9/5/2008 au 22/6/2008)

A pioneer of color photography, Mr. Epstein has been making pictures, films, and photographic books for 35 years. His Vietnam pictures from the 1990s offer the artist's characteristic balance of formal rigor and nuanced wit; and they are a vivid example of what critic Joanna Lehan calls Epstein's "jaw-dropping use of color." These photographs are also an important marker in Epstein's evolution as an artist, a bridge between his early street work and his large format work to come.
Cinthya Soto Pop It Up! (Du 8/2/2008 au 1/4/2008)
In the series "A (des)tiempo", Soto uses her camera to immortalize public and private spaces characterized by a local aesthetic on the verge of disappearance, which stand in stark contrast to the standardized impulse towards a globalized western aesthetic. A horror vacui reigns in each of the images, which the artist accentuates by unifying multiple views of the same scene.
