Biographie

Couple d'Allemands adeptes de la photographie topographique (la Nouvelle Topographie), Hilla et Bernd Becher prennent durant vingt ans des clichés de l'architecture industrielle en Europe, puis en Amérique du Nord. À la suite de leur publication (Anonyme Skulpturen. Eine typologie technischer Bauten, 1970), ils exposent leurs travaux qu'ils présentent de manière scientifique et sérielle : hauts-fourneaux, châteaux d'eau, silos, etc....
