1925-2000 Born into a very poor family, at the age of 13 Mario Giacomelli began working in a printing works, an activity he continued to carry out through his life. In 1954 he began to work in photography becoming one of its major exponents and achieving international recognition. Being self-taught, he often associated his photographic works with poetry, gathering his photographs together in series.
