While the 15th International Tattoo Convention will be opening in Berlin, welcoming 120 artists from all over the world, ALEXANDER OCHS GALLERIES BERLIN are presenting the exhibition TATTOO YOU by the Korean artist KIM-JOON.
On photographs, with videos and 3D graphics, the artist presents the tattoo as a social experience on a cultural level, where transformation, adaptation and a mixture of divergent cultural elements take place. With the help of 3D graphics, Kim-Joon is creating hyper-realistic images of great symbolism. On the texture of the skin, he exceeds the social iconography of the tattoo and brands the body with globally capitalistic trademarks, signs of political ideology, of religious belief or simply of personal taste.
